Another successful academic mobility program has been implemented as part of the cooperation between Odesa State Agrarian University (OSAU) and the University of Messina (UniMe, Italy) under the Erasmus+ program.
From March 10 to June 6, 202, Oryna LYFAR, a higher education student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, completed an internship at the veterinary clinic of the Italian university. She worked in the departments of therapy and surgery, gaining extensive practical knowledge and skills. This period became invaluable for the academic mobility participant in terms of professional development, offering the opportunity to work side by side with leading veterinarians and apply modern approaches to animal diagnostics and treatment.
In particular, in the surgical department Oryna LYFAR performed the duties of a surgical assistant: she prepared patients for surgery, maintained instrument sterility, participated in surgical procedures, and provided postoperative care. In addition, our university’s representative handled medical documentation, participated in the organization of the treatment process and monitored the implementation of prescriptions. This comprehensive approach allowed Oryna LYFAR to gain a deeper understanding of the specifics of clinical patient management.
The internship at the Italian university became an important part of the professional development of the OSAU student and helped her determine her future specialization.
