From May 31 to June 9, 2025 Olena PIESAROHLO, Academic Secretary of OSAU, Associate Professor at the Department of Horticulture, Viticulture, Biology and Chemistry, along with Olha PIVEN, Associate Professor at the Department of Infectious Pathology, Biosafety and Veterinary-Sanitary Inspection named after Professor V.Ya. Atamas successfully completed an internship under the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme (KA1) at the University of Forestry in Sofia, Bulgaria.
As part of the internship programme, the OSAU academic staff held meetings with the leadership of the University of Forestry – Professor Dr. Petar Antov, Vice-Rector for Research and Project Activities, Digitalization, Innovation and International Cooperation; Associate Professor Dr. Tandzhu Mehmedov and Associate Professor Dr. Stanislav Radanski, Vice-Deans of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Associate Professor Dr. Vera Petrova, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Agronomy.
During the internship, the OSAU teaching staff presented the university, got acquainted with the organization of the educational process, academic curricula, training and production practice bases for students, as well as the research activities of the University of Forestry. Together with Associate Professor Dr. Georgi Stoimenov and Roman Pepovich, they visited the newly established university veterinary clinic for small animals. A warm meeting was also held with fellow chemists and together with Associate Professor Dr. Yordanka Ivanova the OSAU representatives visited the modern Research Laboratory for Environmental Protection, Restoration and Ecological Monitoring.
As a result of the international internship, the Interinstitutional Agreement with the University of Forestry (Sofia, Bulgaria) was renewed for further development of cooperation in academic and research fields. A number of agreements were reached to continue the academic mobility programme for both OSAU students and teaching staff. The OSAU participants received official Erasmus+ academic mobility certificates.
The visit to the University of Forestry marked another significant step toward international recognition and the expansion of educational and research opportunities for the OSAU teaching staff and students!
