On 28–29 May 2026, the V International Scientific and Practical Conference “Intercultural Communication in the Context of Globalization Dialogue: Development Strategies” was held at Odesa National Maritime University. The large-scale academic event brought together researchers, university lecturers, students, journalists, and representatives of non-governmental organizations.

During the plenary session, the project team of Odesa State Agrarian University (OSAU) presented the results of the international project “Less vulnerability, more adaptability – pilot remote sensing assisted restoration of green spaces in coastal and urban areas within the Black seaMoreAdaptBSB Project Presented at the International Scientific and Practical Conference region” (MoreAdaptBSB), implemented under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme.

A presentation entitled “The International MoreAdaptBSB Project as a Tool for Environmental Education and Climate Awareness among Youth” was delivered by Andrii Maiev, Assistant Project Manager and Associate Professor of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Sciences at Odesa State Agrarian University. The presentation highlighted OSAU’s experience as a project partner in disseminating project outcomes among stakeholders, young people, the scientific community, and the wider public. Particular attention was given to the key interim results of the project, which attracted considerable interest from both researchers and civil society representatives.

Special emphasis was placed on the project’s dissemination activities, including thematic lectures, environmental workshops, student essay competitions, educational events dedicated to climate change and sustainable development, as well as the implementation of practical environmental initiatives involving higher education students.

Conference participants were introduced to the outcomes of the Greener Campus environmental campaign, the activities of the OSAU Research and Development Centre for Student Initiatives, cooperation with the Botanical Garden of Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University, and other activities aimed at fostering environmental awareness among young people.

Stakeholders expressed particular interest in the fact that the MoreAdaptBSB project serves not only as a tool for studying climate vulnerability and supporting ecosystem restoration in the Black Sea region, but also as an effective platform for strengthening international partnerships, promoting science, and engaging young people in addressing contemporary environmental challenges.

The lively discussion following the presentation demonstrated the participants’ strong interest in the project outcomes and its future implementation prospects. The presentation of OSAU’s experience became another important step towards enhancing the University’s international visibility, expanding academic cooperation, and promoting the integration of Ukrainian science into the European research area.
