On 9 June 2026, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and International Relations Tetiana NEBOHA and Professor of the Department of Horticulture, Viticulture, Biology and Chemistry Iryna ISHCHENKO participated in the seminar “Interaction between Local Business and Communities within the EU Horizon Europe Programme”, held in the town of Pivdenne.
The event brought together representatives of research institutions, higher education institutions, the business
sector, local self-government bodies and civil society organizations to discuss opportunities for developing innovation activities, fostering international partnerships, and participating in projects under the EU Framework Programme “Horizon Europe”. Particular attention was paid to current funding opportunities for Ukrainian researchers, mechanisms for building international consortia, and instruments supporting innovative research.
Participants were introduced to key strands of the programme, including opportunities under the “Excellent Science” pillar and the “Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness” cluster, as well as funding instruments provided by the European Innovation Council. Significant emphasis was placed on consortium building, partner search for research and innovation projects, and strengthening cooperation between universities, research institutions, businesses, and local communities.
The participation of OSAU representatives in such events is of high practical relevance and contributes to the development of project-based activities, expansion of international cooperation networks, and identification of new opportunities for attracting competitive research funding. The knowledge gained and professional connections established are essential for preparing high-quality project proposals and further integrating the University into the European Research Area.
Such initiatives significantly contribute to the internationalisation of higher education as active involvement of academic staff in international projects facilitates the implementation of European best practices in education, enhances the quality of student training and strengthens the international reputation.
