History of the department
The history of the department of economic theory and enterprise economics dates to the distant 30s of the last century and is one of the first specialized departments of economic direction in OSGI and among Ukrainian universities. It was formed by order of the People’s Commissariat of Education on December 28, 1930 and was called the Department of Agricultural Organization, of which the assistant professor became the head. A.E. Podkaminskaya. During 1946-1947, Professor I.E. was appointed the head of the department. Petrovsky, who was the deputy director of the institute for academic and scientific work. In 1949, a graduate of OSGI in 1931, a candidate of economic sciences, associate professor N.A. was invited to the post of head of the department. Braslavets, who gave a new impetus to scientific research, their systemic development. Under his leadership, scientific research at the department reached new directions and a scientific level, using fundamentally new techniques and methods that no one had ever used before.
In accordance with the order of the rector of the Odessa Agricultural Institute No. 304 of November 2, 1961, a department of agricultural economics was created, the head of which was appointed candidate of economic sciences, professor, honored worker of the higher school of the Ukrainian SSR M.K. Murashchenko. He gave a course of lectures on agricultural economics, published 30 scientific papers, and under his leadership 9 candidate dissertations were prepared and defended. For the fruitful and multifaceted scientific, methodological and educational work of M.K. Murashchenko in 1978. The honorary title “Honored Worker of Higher School of the Ukrainian SSR” was awarded.
Since September 1, 1997, the Department of Agricultural Economics was merged with the Department of Political Economy under the name of Economic Theory and Agricultural Economics, headed by the head of the candidate of economic sciences, associate professor A.M. Tymchurenko, a well-known learned agricultural economist. A.M. Tymchurenko was a well-known learned agricultural economist. Published over 50 scientific papers. Under his leadership, 4 PhD theses were defended.
A great contribution to the development of the department of economic theory and enterprise economics at different times was made by its heads – Ph.D., professor K.A. Cherno, Doctor of Economics, Professor A.P. Lushchuk. Under the leadership of the candidate of economic sciences, professor K.A. 9 candidate dissertations were prepared and defended in black, 17 scientific papers were published. Professor A.P. Lushchuk published 52 scientific papers, under his leadership 5 candidate dissertations were defended, was elected Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Advisor to the Head of the Department of Political Economy of the Slovak Polytechnic Institute (Bratislava, Czechoslovakia). He successfully combined administrative work with educational and research activities, while showing creativity and an innovative approach.
Of great importance for the formation and formation of the department was the scientific and pedagogical activity of many teachers of the department, who gave rise to new scientific directions of the idea for the formation of new economic specialties. Throughout the entire period of the functioning of the department, its team was inherent in a creative approach to the organization of the educational process.
A great contribution to the development of the department was made by Professor J. Mois, whose scientific heritage includes more than 130 scientific works, including 3 study guides and 3 monographs. Under his leadership, protected 7 candidate dissertations.
In the period from 2006-2016, the department was headed by the candidate of economic sciences, associate professor L.A. Bakhchivanzhi. Professor J. Mois worked at the department; Associate professors: A.Ya. Ryabenko, Yu.M. Sotnikov, N.A. Dobryanskaya, I.A. Kryukova, N.M. Burdeynaya, E.V. Golubkov, L.V. Lopotan, T.S. Shabbat, senior teachers: S.S. Kryzhanovskaya, G.I. Topov, A.A. Krinitskaya, S.Z. Rawhide, assistant A.G. Topov. Technical support of the educational process was carried out by senior laboratory assistants: E.G. Osipova, A.V. Kazanji S.I. Shevchenko, N.M. Smartly.
On September 1, 2016, the Department of Economic Theory and Economics was merged with the departments of agribusiness, finance and law, headed by the head of the doctor of economic sciences, associate professors A.N. Galitsky. The department consisted of associate professors: L.A. Bakhchivanzhi, G.P. Atamas, T.S. Shabatura, A.A. Shevchenko, A.P. Petrenko, N.M. Burdeynaya, L.V. Lopotan, E.V. Golubkov, A.G. Topov, A.V. Doolin; senior teacher E.V. Joyful.
The department carries out scientific and methodological work. During the period of the department’s functioning, its employees prepared and published a significant number of monographs, scientific manuals, and teaching materials. Since 2013, more than 100 articles have been published in professional and scientific publications, 8 scientific articles included in the scientometric databases of SCOPUS Web of Science. Over 100 abstracts were published, 4 dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Economics and 5 dissertations for the degree of candidate of economic sciences were defended.
The staff of the department pays considerable attention to improving the quality of training of highly qualified specialists for the agricultural sector of the economy. This is facilitated by the active research work of students. There are 3 student scientific circles at the department: “Analysis of economic activity”, supervisor Doctor of Economic Sciences T.S. Shabbat; “Financial and credit mechanism”, supervisor: candidate of economic sciences, associate professor A.P. Petrenko; “Modern technologies in the agricultural sector”, supervisor: candidate of economic sciences, associate professor A.A. Shevchenko. Members of student scientific circles speak at interuniversity, all-Russian and international conferences, take part in the All-Ukrainian competitions of scientific works and the All-Ukrainian Olympiads in the disciplines of the department. Based on the results of participation, students are awarded annually with diplomas and diplomas.
Conferences are held annually based on internships by students in the discipline “Economics and Finance of an Enterprise” based on advanced enterprises of Ukraine, the best reports are published in a student collection of scientific papers. Various forms of scientific work annually cover more than 50 students.
Currently, a credit-modular system has been introduced at the department to control students’ knowledge, test assignments have been developed for each discipline. Current and final control of knowledge in each discipline is carried out in computer audiences.
