On December 11-13, 2024 the “XXIV. INTERNATIONAL VETERINARY MEDICINE STUDENT SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH CONGRESS” was held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa (ISTANBUL UNIVERSITY-CERRAHPŞA), organized by the Scientific Research Department of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
For over 20 years the “International veterinary medicine student scientific research congress” has been bringing together domestic and international veterinary medicine students.
The congress aimed to focus on new scientific topics and exchange knowledge in all areas of veterinary medicine.
This year, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Odesa State Agrarian University was invited as a co-organizer of the Congress, represented by the Acting Dean of the faculty Kateryna RODIONOVA, who was a member of the organizing committee.
Thanks to such cooperation, the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Kateryna RODIONOVA, Assistant of the Department of Surgery, Obstetrics and Small Animal Diseases Nina DANKEVYCH and PhD student of “Veterinary Medicine” Mykola BALTA (scientific supervisor – Kateryna RODIONOVA, Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor) had the honor to personally participate in the work of the Congress in Istanbul.
During the XXIV International veterinary medicine student scientific research congress PhD student Mykola BALTA gave a poster presentation “Effectiveness of disinfectants for African swine fever” and Nina DANKEVYCH, Assistant of the Department of Surgery, Obstetrics and Small Animal Diseases delivered the report “Pyometra in dogs”.
In total, 460 students and 40 scientific and pedagogical workers, scientific supervisors of higher education students and PhD candidates participated in the Congress.
Owing to the guest visit, a Memorandum of Understanding between OSAU and ISTANBUL UNIVERSITY-CERRAHPASA was signed, that enables the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of OSAU and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of ISTANBUL UNIVERSITY- CERRAHPŞA to conduct joint scientific research, develop academic mobility and implement joint projects under the ERASMUS+ program.
