Round Table “European Innovation Council and European Innovation Ecosystems: Instruments for Implementing R&D in the B2B Sector” Held at OSAU

On June 12, 2025, Odesa State Agrarian University, in partnership with the National Contact Point of the European Union’s Framework Programme “Horizon Europe,” hosted a round table titled “European Innovation Council and European Innovation Ecosystems: Instruments for Implementing R&D in the B2B Sector.”

The event brought together representatives from business, academia, innovation communities, project managers, and public sector institutions interested in the implementation of scientific and innovative projects in applied research, technology transfer, and the development of European innovation ecosystems.

The primary goal of the round table was to promote science-business cooperation in the development and implementation of R&D projects in industrial and applied sectors. Special focus was given to the tools and open calls within the “Horizon Europe” Programme – the European Union’s key funding programme for research and innovation — with particular emphasis on opportunities for the agricultural sector.

During the event, participants explored success stories of Ukrainian organizations implementing projects under the EIC Accelerator instrument. Attendees received practical guidance on preparing project proposals, learned about the structure of project applications, evaluation criteria, and participated in group work to develop concepts for future initiatives.

Speakers included:

Oleh Rubel – Head of the National Contact Point (NCP) “European Innovation Council and European Innovation Ecosystems”

Serhii Sizonenko – Research Associate at the NCP

Ivan Kulchytskyi – President of the NGO “Agency of European Innovations”

Mykola Oseiko – Founder of the company “CARBOMINER”

as well as other leading experts in the field.

The round table was conducted in a hybrid format – offline at OSAU and online via Zoom – which enabled broader participation from various regions of Ukraine. All registered participants received electronic certificates of attendance.

OSAU representatives played an active role in the event, sharing experience in implementing project initiatives and participating in all sessions and group work aimed at gaining practical knowledge and skills needed for successful proposal preparation. This involvement marks an important step toward strengthening the university’s project activities and increasing its competitiveness within European programmes.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to OSAU for providing the venue and expressed hope for continued mutually beneficial cooperation.
