Guest Online Lecture: “Dynamics of US Political Party Competition and US Foreign Policy towards Ukraine in 2025”

On May 19, 2025 a guest online lecture “Dynamics of US Political Party Competition and US Foreign Policy towards Ukraine in 2025” was held at Odesa State Agrarian University. The lecture was given by Daniel J. Epstein, a political scientist and researcher at Harvard University (USA).

Guest Online Lecture: “Dynamics of US Political Party Competition and US Foreign Policy towards Ukraine in 2025”Before the lecture, Dr. Epstein introduced the international academic initiative “Scholars without Borders”, which aims to support Ukrainian scholars during the ongoing war. The program includes academic exchanges, grant support and assistance in learning the English language.

On behalf of the university administration Andrii Maiev, Head of the International Relations Department, expressed sincere gratitude to the Harvard representative for his willingness to cooperate and for the important support of the Ukrainian academic community. The event was attended by teachers, students and members of the Council of Young Scientists of OSAU who are proficient in English.

In his presentation Daniel J. Epstein presented current issues in the US foreign policy towards Ukraine, particularly in the context of domestic political competition between the main political parties in the United States. He analyzed possible scenarios for the development of US – Ukraine relations, taking into account ongoing transformations in the global security architecture.

The lecture generated significant interest among the participants. A lively discussion followed the presentation, during which the speaker answered numerous questions of the audience.

The parties reached an agreement on further development of mutually beneficial academic collaboration.
