Odesa State Agrarian University proudly presents the October edition of the international AlgaeRevive project newsletter – “Harnessing Algae Power for Pollution Reduction and Blue Growth” (project code – BSB00091) within the framework of the (Interreg VI-B) NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, financed by the European Union.
About the Project
AlgaeRevive unites efforts from five Black Sea nations – Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Greece, and Ukraine – in a shared mission to restore the ecological health of the Black Sea. Implemented under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, the project addresses eutrophication and pollution through harnessing the power of algae.
Why This Matters
The Black Sea faces significant environmental pressure: excessive nutrients from agricultural activities, chemical pollution, plastic waste, and ineffective wastewater treatment threaten marine ecosystems and the livelihoods of millions who depend on the sea.
AlgaeRevive offers an innovative solution: utilizing algae as a natural tool to reduce pollution and promote the development of the region’s blue economy.
