A student essay competition was recently held at Odesa State Agrarian University as part of the international project “Less vulnerability, more adaptability – pilot remote sensing assisted restoration of green spaces in coastal and urban areas within the Black sea region” (MoreAdaptBSB), co-funded by the EU Interreg NEXT (Interreg VI-B) Black Sea Basin Programme.
The contest focused on environmental issues and welcomed participation from students across all faculties. Contestants showcased a strong grasp of the subject matter, a sincere interest in ecological topics, and a high level of English language proficiency. Many thought-provoking and creative ideas were presented.
The jury – comprising the OSAU faculty staff Daria Bulysheva, Svitlana Nasakina, Mariia Kholod, and Andrii Maiev – faced a difficult decision in selecting the winner due to the high quality of submissions.
After evaluating all entries based on content, originality, creativity, and language proficiency, the jury awarded first place to Artem Khrystiuk, a 2nd year student specializing in Agroengineering (Faculty of geodesy, land management and agricultural engineering). The winner received a certificate and a commemorative gift from the university administration.
