Dissemination of MoreAdaptBSB Project Results at an International Scientific Conference

On 12 March 2026, representatives of Odesa State Agrarian University (OSAU) participated in the I International Scientific and Practical Conference “Security Technologies: Modern Challenges and Prospects”, hosted by Cherkasy State Technological University (Ukraine). The event served as a platform for the dissemination of intermediate results achieved within the MoreAdaptBSB project, implemented under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme.

The OSAU delivered a presentation entitled “Assessment of Climate Vulnerability of Coastal Territories as a Tool for Environmental Security: Experience of the International Project MoreAdaptBSB”. The presentation outlined the methodological approaches adopted within the project for the assessment of climate vulnerability, the restoration of urban and coastal green spaces, and the application of innovative tools for environmental monitoring.

The conference brought together representatives of local and regional authorities. leading scholars, researchers, and practitioners from Ukraine and a number of foreign countries, providing a substantive forum for the exchange of expertise and the discussion of current challenges in environmental security and climate adaptation. The presentation delivered by Project Manager Daria Bulysheva generated interest among participants, with particular attention directed towards the project’s methodological approach to assessing climate risks in coastal regions and the collection of data for the future web-based vulnerability assessment tool. The ensuing discussion facilitated the identification of opportunities for further scientific cooperation and contributed to strengthening the professional network of the MoreAdaptBSB partnership.

The participation of OSAU in this international scientific event reinforces the project’s commitment to open knowledge dissemination and contributes to broadening the academic and public dialogue on climate adaptation in the Black Sea region.

The project is being implemented between July 26, 2024, and January 25, 2027, and has a total value of €1,594,728, of which €1,435,255.20 is funding provided by the European Union through the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme. As a partner, Odesa State Agrarian University receives EU funding of 143.872,20 euros.
