Odesa State Agrarian University, as a partner of the international project “Less vulnerability, more adaptability – pilot remote sensing assisted restoration of green spaces in coastal and urban areas within the Black sea region” (Interreg VI-B NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, MoreAdaptBSB – BSB00479), participated in the Knowledge Exchange Group Meeting held from April 1–3, 2026, in Burgas. OSAU was represented by Project Manager Dr. Daria BULYSHEVA.
The event, hosted by Via Pontica Foundation (Bulgaria) brought together project partners, researchers, policymakers, and regional stakeholders from across the Black Sea region to strengthen cooperation on ecosystem restoration and climate resilience. During the event, participants discussed project realization steps, pilot activities, and technical challenges, as well as the application of remote sensing methodologies for assessing coastal and urban resilience. Special attention was given to integrating scientific data into policy-making and promoting Nature-Based Solutions. The programme also included a study visit to the pilot site in Primorsko, where participants assessed restoration priorities and explored cooperation opportunities with local stakeholders.
The Burgas meeting marked an important step in strengthening cooperation among partners and advancing innovative approaches to climate adaptation.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to:
- enhancing knowledge exchange
- integrating scientific data into policy-making
- promoting Nature-Based Solutions across the Black Sea region.
Detailed information about the event is available in the official press release.
