OSAU PRESENTED AT THE NATIONAL SEMINAR “BLUE SKILLS FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE”

On 23-24 December 2025 representatives of Odesa State Agrarian University Tetiana NEBOHA, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work and International Relations and Andrii MAIEV, Head of the International Relations Department took part in the national seminar “Blue Skills for a Sustainable Future”, held in a mixed format in Odesa and Mykolaiv.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the “Institute of Market And Economic&Ecological Researches of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”, brought together representatives of research institutions, higher education institutions, business, public authorities and civil society organizations. The seminar focused on discussing modern approaches to the development of “blue skills” in the context of sustainable development, environmental security, aquaculture, the maritime sector, energy and tourism.

On the first day, participants visited the Ukrainian Scientific Center of Ecology of the Sea, the Kuialnytskyi National Nature Park and the Tyligulska Wind Farm. These visits provided insight into practical experience in implementing projects related to environmental protection, ecosystem restoration and the development of renewable energy.

On the second day of the seminar, hosted by Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University (Mykolaiv), Tetiana NEBOHA delivered a presentation “The OSAU International Project Activities: Focus on Blue Skills”, which presented the university’s systematic approach to implementing international research and educational projects. The presentation emphasized that OSAU’s project activities are aimed at:

  • developing “blue skills” among students and researchers;
  • applying an interdisciplinary approach to address environmental and socio-economic challenges;
  • aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals;
  • active engaging of young people in international research and educational activities.

 

In particular, OSAU presented its experience in participating in international projects focused on the development of blue economy, climate change adaptation, environmental monitoring of the Black Sea region, aquaculture development, as well as the implementation of educational initiatives and international academic mobility.

 

During the seminar a productive exchange of views took place on the implementation of international projects, including under current challenges and discussions on prospects for launching new initiatives focused on “blue skills” for Ukraine.

The participation of OSAU representatives contributed to strengthening partnerships with Ukrainian research and educational institutions and international organizations and opened new opportunities for preparing joint projects in the fields of sustainable development and environmental security.
