On 12 November 2025, as part of the ongoing cooperation between Odesa State Agrarian University and the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM, Bari, Italy), Italian experts conducted an online guest lecture “Development Cooperation as a Job Opportunity for Young Agronomists.” The event aimed to familiarize students and academic staff with modern approaches to supporting and developing the agricultural sector.
CIHEAM Manager Luigi CAVESTRO delivered an informative presentation on a large-scale international project focused on supporting the agri-food sector and restoring the economic potential of agriculture in the Odesa region. In his speech, Luigi CAVESTRO outlined the project’s key implementation stages, strategic objectives, expected outcomes and opportunities for young professionals.
CIHEAM expert Carmelo SIGLIUZZO emphasized innovative directions introduced in the field of sustainable development, modern agricultural technologies and prospects for their adaptation to regional needs. He highlighted the importance of environmental sustainability, rational resource use and compliance of project activities with European standards.
Following the presentations, Head of the International Relations Department of OSAU Andrii MAIEV expressed gratitude to the speakers for their insightful lectures and stressed the importance of continuing cooperation under the memorandum signed between the University and CIHEAM Bari. He noted that such events help integrate global experience into the educational process and open new opportunities for students’ professional development.
The guest lecture became another achievement within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between OSAU and CIHEAM, reaffirming the commitment of both sides to further strengthen their partnership.
