PROJECT TANDEM-UA-DE

THE DILLUGIS PROJECT IS BEING SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED AFTER THREE YEARS OF IMPLEMENTATION, BUT UKRAINIAN-GERMAN COOPERATION CONTINUES: THE NEW TANDEM-UA-DE PROJECT OPENS UP NEW OPPORTUNITIES

After three years of successful implementation, the DILLUGIS project (Digital Labs & Lectures for Ukrainian, German & International Students) has come to an end. The initiative was carried out with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as part of the “Ukraine Digital: Ensuring Academic Success in Times of Crisis” programme. This project has marked a significant step forward in academic cooperation between Ukraine and Germany, providing Ukrainian students and teaching staff with the opportunity to continue online learning and teaching during wartime.

Thanks to the project, over 600 students from 6 Ukrainian universities were able to continue their studies by participating in more than 30 digital courses and modules in Information Technology and Business Management offered through the Digital Technology and Management programme at OTH Amberg-Weiden. Ukrainian professors also actively contributed to the project, gaining new skills in digital teaching and enhancing their professional qualifications.

The Ukrainian-German Learning Weeks conducted over the three-year period enabled students from both countries to take part in intensive courses and collaborate in intercultural teams. Several workshops and webinars were also held for teaching and administrative staff, providing opportunities for experience exchange and the advancement of digital teaching methods.

As a result of the DILLUGIS project, a Ukrainian-German consortium was established involving OTH Amberg-Weiden and 6 Ukrainian universities. This consortium is now launching a new initiative — the TANDEM-UA-DE project (Teaching and Administration Network for Double Degree Education and Mobility – Ukraine and Germany). TANDEM-UA-DE will be supported by the DAAD within the framework of the “German-Ukrainian University Network” programme funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) over the next four years. The project aims to expand academic collaboration opportunities between Ukrainian and German universities by offering joint courses and developing double (parallel) degree programmes.

The TANDEM-UA-DE project will focus on:

  • Introducing double (parallel) degree programmes that enable students to pursue education simultaneously at Ukrainian and German universities;
  • Expanding opportunities for students to participate in joint courses, exchange programmes and internships, providing valuable experience in an international environment;
  • Establishing a network of project participants and alumni;
  • Enhancing the international cooperation competencies of university staff;
  • Building a solid foundation for long-term academic partnerships between institutions in both countries.

The TANDEM-UA-DE project aims to scale up the collaboration initiated by DILLUGIS and ensure the sustainable development of academic and professional ties between Ukraine and Germany in the future.
