On May 15, 2024, the OSAU teaching staff and students joined with interest the online lecture “Communicating across cultures and the effects on international business management”. The event, which was organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management as part of the celebration of Science Day in Ukraine, was opened by Tetiana Matsiievych, the acting Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Phd of Economic Sciences, Docent. Tetiana Matsiievych made a welcoming speech to the guest speaker and the participants, told about the history of the University of Nebraska (Omaha, USA). Guest speaker: Veronica Doga, Program Director, Nebraska Business Development Center, University of Nebraska.
During the event, the aspects of cross-cultural communication, its importance for international business management was considered, and the impact of globalization on the development of intercultural communication was pointed out. The place and role of cross-cultural communication in globalization processes was also defined. The speaker told about the main trends of intercultural communication existing in the modern globalized world. After the lecture there was a lively discussion and exchange of ideas.
The head of the Department of International Relations Andrii Maiev, on behalf of the university leadership, sincerely thanked the speaker for the interesting and meaningful material, and also emphasized the importance of involving foreign researchers and experts in the learning process in the context of practice-oriented education. The possibility of continuing mutually beneficial cooperation in this area was discussed.
