On October 8, 2025 OSAU hosted an environmental event that brought together a large audience of students, academic staff, researchers and stakeholders. The event, dedicated to environmental issues and climate change adaptation, was part of the international project \u201cLess vulnerability, more adaptability \u2013 pilot remote sensing assisted restoration of green spaces in coastal and urban areas within the Black Sea region\u201d (BSB00479), co-funded by the EU Interreg NEXT (Interreg VI-B) Black Sea Basin Programme<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The keynote speaker – Liliia Hrychulevych<\/strong>, Head of the Public Organization \u201cVRUNA\u201d and member of the \u201cBlack Sea Women\u2019s Club\u201d delivered an engaging presentation focusing on the application of nature-based solutions in various fields. She emphasized their high effectiveness in addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development. The presentation included practical examples of such solutions in agriculture, landscaping, urban development, and water resource restoration, along with references to recent publications and useful links.<\/p>\n

It was highlighted that the active role of civil society is essential for more effective environmental action and better adaptation to climate change. One of the public initiatives aimed at raising awareness about the climate crisis, its consequences and the need for joint efforts to address it is the Ukrainian Climate Week (October 6\u201312, 2025).<\/p>\n

Head of the International Relations Department of OSAU Andrii Maiev<\/strong>,\u00a0 emphasized the importance of the discussed issues and shared details about the implementation of the international project \u201cLess vulnerability, more adaptability\u201d. Within this project the university researchers, in cooperation with partners from Bulgaria, Greece and Romania get involved in the development of nature-oriented solutions in the Black Sea region.<\/p>\n

Liliia Hrychulevych<\/strong>\u2019s presentation inspired a lively discussion. Directions for further mutually beneficial cooperation through student clubs and other communication activities were preliminarily agreed. We sincerely thank Liliia Hrychulevych and all participants!<\/p>\n
